Решение.
Для превращения черных пешек a и b в ферзей на c1 требуется 3 взятия. Для превращения черных пешек еще в 5 ферзей остается только 3 взятия. Без перекрестных взятий белыми пешками такое было бы невозможно. Кроме того, черный король должен был пройти за пешечный барьер белых. Анализ показывает, что при этом черные пешки использовали все взятия. Вначале белые могли побить e2xf3, черные fxe и e2-e1=Q (дважды), потом f2xe3, g3xf2>f1=Q, bK>h4, g2-g3+, Kh4-h3-g2-~, h3xg2>g1=Q; черная пешка c превратилась на c1, для этого белые вначале били c2xd3, потом d2xc3.
Баланс белых закрыт, в запасе у белых 2 взятия.
Solution.
For the black a- and b-pawns to promote on c1, these pawns must have made at least 3 captures. There were 5 more promotions of black pawns to queens – and no more than three captures were used for that. Without cross-captures by white pawns, this would have been impossible. It should also be taken into account that the black king had to penetrate the white pawn barrier. An analysis shows that the black pawns must have used all three captures remaining for them. White could first capture e2xf3, Black – fxe and e2-e1=Q (twice); then f2xe3, g3xf2>f1=Q, bK>h4, g2-g3+, Kh4-h3-g2-~, h3xg2>g1=Q; the black c-pawn was promoted on c1; to make that possible, White had to capture c2xd3 and then d2xc3.
White’s balance is closed; 2 more captures are available for White.
