Николай Павлович Харчишин. Россия. Родился в Харькове 16 мая 1947 года. Образование среднее специальное, окончил механический техникум. Работал технологом, механиком, мастером. Ветеран труда.
С 1995 года живет в Сусанинском районе Костромской области.
В 13 лет одновременно увлекся шахматами и шашками, первый разряд по шахматам и кандидат в мастера по шашкам. Активно участвовал в многочисленных заочных конкурсах решениях, а так же в турнирах по переписке, где сыграл более 600 партий.
В 1997-2006 гг. вел шахматно-шашечный отдел в газете «Сусанинская новь», где публиковались новеллы и рассказы, а так же проводились конкурсы решения шахматных и шашечных задач.
11-кратный чемпион района по шахматам, дважды награжден Почетной грамотой районного комитета по физической культуре и спорту за пропаганду «гимнастики ума».
Стаж в композиции более 55 лет, составил около 1000 задач и этюдов разных жанров, 44 отмечены, 7 – призами. В «Альбомы России» по миниатюрам отобраны 6 задач, с 2005 года участвовал во всемирном чемпионате по составлению миниатюр.
Три года назад увлекся графикой, издал альбом «Графика. Силуэты» (Кострома, 2018), где есть работы и по шахматной тематике. Автор многочисленных шахматных афоризмов, издал 3 сборника таковых.
