Россия, Волгоград, родился 30 ноября 1956 года.
Шахматной композицией увлёкся в школьные годы, в чём немалая заслуга волгоградского шахматного композитора Владимира Михайловича Арчакова. В личном творчестве предпочтение отдаёт многоходовым шахматным задачам. Опубликовал более 400 задач, из них около половины получили отличия. Финалист личных первенств СССР, РСФСР и России по шахматной композиции. Ряд задач вошли в альбомы ФИДЕ и России. Выступал арбитром личных и командных чемпионатов России и Украины, личного чемпионата мира, зарубежных и российских соревнований. Международный арбитр по шахматной композиции, во времена СССР – судья республиканской категории по шахматам.Входит в Союз журналистов России, в разные годы вёл на постоянной основе шахматные рубрики в 15 волгоградский газетах. Ведёт постоянную рубрику в газете «Аргументы и факты – Нижнее Поволжье». Автор двухтомника «Шахматная поэзия в Волгоградской области». Избирался вице-президентом региональной волгоградской шахматной федерации, входил в состав комиссий по композиции шахматных федераций РСФСР и РФ.

Помимо личного творчества немало времени уделяет организации соревнований всех рангов и направлений по шахматной композиции. Инициатор и организатор проведения Матчей городов-героев (совместно с ветеранов ВОВ К.К. Сухаревым) и Всероссийских заочных соревнований по решению шахматных композиций. По его инициативе и при непосредственном участии Федерация шахмат России стала проводить юношеские первенства РФ по решению шахматных композиций. Организатор проведения интернет-турниров под эгидой Международной федерации шахматной композиции по решению композиций в десятках регионах России, включая ЮФО. Инициатор создания комиссии шахматной композиции в составе федерации шахмат ЮФО и юношеских первенств ЮФО по решению композиций. Автор ныне действующих правил шахматной композиции, вошедших в правила шахмат России. Мастер ФИДЕ.
