Калугин Юрий Владимирович. Россия, Самара.    Родился в 1940 г. в г. Куйбышеве.

Окончил Куйбышевский гидротехнический техникум (1959 г.), затем Московский институт инженеров геодезии, аэрофотосъёмки и картографии (1966 г.). В 1990 г. защитил кандидатскую диссертацию.

В настоящее время преподаёт в Самарском архитектурно-строительном университете.

Композицией увлёкся с начала занятий шахматами. Первую задачу опубликовал в 1957 году. Всего опубликовал около 100 композиций.

Автор ряда статей, посвященный актуальным проблемам популярной композиции. Большая их часть опубликована в журналах «64 – Шахматное обозрение» и «Шахматная композиция».

Автор и соавтор книг, посвященных шахматной композиции в Самарской области («Самарские композиторы», «Самарские конкурсы» и др).

«Самарский Корчной» - продолжает активно и успешно играть в шахматы.  Кандидат в мастера спорта по шахматам.

Has ended Kuibyshev hydraulic engineering technical school (1959), then the Moscow institute of engineers of a geodesy, air photography and cartography (1966). In 1990 has protected the master's thesis.

Now teaches at the Samara architecturally-building university.

Composition has taken a great interest from the beginning of employment in chess. The first problem has published in 1957. In total has published about 100 compositions.

The author of some articles, devoted to actual problems of a popular composition. Their big part is published in magazines «64 - the Chess review» and «the Chess composition».

The author and the co-author of the books devoted to a chess composition in the Samara area («the Samara composers», «the Samara competitions» and ..).

«The Samara Korchnoy» - continues to play chess actively and successfully. The candidate for the master of sports on chess.
